Black Metal Country Of The Day: France.

Woi. Haven't posted anything on my music blog in quite some time.
So I'm going to post something now! about Black Metal, from one of my favourite countries, France!

The reason why France is one of my favourite countries is because they know how to make some gooooooooood Black Metal. Some of my most favourite BM bands come from France!

I've also listened to some others as well, but they're not my most favourites.

There's also a group by the name of Les Legions Noires. LLN is a group of French underground BM artists.
These bands limited their releases to very small numbers, usually giving them to their friends and fellow workers.
The bands also were known for having very unusual band names...basically you can't pronounce their names to save your life. You may have seem some in the list above.

My favourite from those would have to be Vlad Tepes and Mütiilation.

Also, fyi. These bands are all just straight up raw BM, like, hella raw. I'm not really a fan of Raw BM, but it's alright.

Regarding their influences, Wlad Drakksteim of Vlad Tepes referred, in an interview with Petrified magazine, to Hellhammer and especially Bathory: "Every True Black Metal Horde should play in old Bathory style."

So yeah, all in all. France is a pretty damn grim and frostbitten country.
